the first day trip we took outside of london
was to stratford-upon-avon, the birth place of william shakespeare.
we spent some time being tourists, and caught one of willie's
plays--as you like it.

the second day trip was to oxford. danny,
david, brandy and i took a train and rode out to wander near
oxford university. we were walking aimlessly in the streets
when we saw this cathedral tower and noticed that there were
people standing on a balcony near the top. we found our way
to this old church and climbed a narrow ancient stone steps
(danny found a pigeon nest) to the bell tower. the view was
incredible.

last day trip outside of london brought us
to three different towns. we (david, brandy & i) wanted
to see stonehenge, but we didn't plan for anything else. turns
out that to get to stonehenge we had to catch a train to salisbury,
and take a bus from there to our destination. after visiting
stonehenge, we checked out the salisbury cathedral before heading
out to brighton, a beach town on the english channel. i roamed
around all day with a fever and congested cough, but it was
well worth my effort.
